Director of Care

Collingwood Nursing Home is located in the scenic four-season resort town of Collingwood.  We have been providing a family run home for families with focussed quality care to our seniors since 1977.  A Director of Care is much more than a management position.  This person is the reason our resident services, staff rapport and over-all operations runs smoothly.

Your interaction with nursing, food services, activation and our other departments all gel with your support!

Your qualifications include a BScN with a Current Certificate of Competence as an RN with the CNO and Post RN education in gerontology or 3 years relevant experience in long term care. Demonstrates strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills. Experience with planning, coordinating and supervising a comprehensive nursing care program.

Volunteering

Come discover all the exciting wonderful ways that you can get involved in your community. A chance to interact and explore a variety of volunteer opportunities. We offer hands on experience, a chance to develop new relationships, to share skills & talents, receive reference for a resume and to be a part of an interdisciplinary team. 

Retired, Seniors and Students are Welcome!

Volunteer opportunities available include:

-Bingo Helper - Assisting with crafts - Playing a musical instrument - Assisting with manicures - Playing cards and games - Friendly Visitor - Helping to feed residents at mealtimes - Helping to decorate for holidays and seasons - Helping out in the Tuck Shop.

Choose from part or full-time, short or long term commitments.

Volunteers enable us to give an improved level of care, and we are able to maintain a strong bond with out community, due to the extra support we get from them.
